Last Wednesday my aunt flew in from Idaho, where it was cold and sleeting, to beautiful 70 degree weather of North Carolina. We got up early the next morning and made our way to Hunting Island Beach in South Carolina. The air was warm, the sand was soft on my toes, birds were chirping & the sounds of the city were far behind us. R.E.L.A.X.E.D… there is no other way to describe how I felt for the 2 days I was there. We had a beautiful view of the marsh and ocean from our rental home.
Hunting Island is a State Park. This 5,000 acre park and it’s 3 miles of natural beach are home to many species of birds and other types of wildlife.
This area is called a rookery, the nesting and breeding grounds of colony forming seabirds.
Everyday was ended with a gorgeous sunset! Already looking forward to next years beach trip…. Happy Friday Everyone!
