Grace Hill Photography bio picture
  • Hi there!

Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my blog! Here you can learn a little about me, my style and find some of my most recent work.

I live in Charlotte, NC and specialize in lifestyle & wedding photography.

I fell in love with photography when I was in high school but didn't follow my dream of becoming a photographer until I graduated college. My husband bought me a "fancy" camera right after we were married and I couldn't put it down. Through my adorable nieces and nephews, families, children and couples in love I found my passion of telling stories through pictures and producing artistic pictures that make you feel.

I am a huge fan of natural light. While shooting, I try to capture the true emotions that are shared between my subjects when they are just being themselves and forget they are being photographed. I love capturing the real natural moments, to me, that's what makes a beautiful photograph.

When I'm not behind the lens you can find me enjoying life with my baby girl and handsome hubby, walking my sweet pups {Otis the pug and Ziggy the beagle}, traveling to a sandy beach or snow covered mountain side and spending quality time with friends and family. I love to laugh and try to see the good in every situation.

I'm so excited that you have stopped by, and I truly hope that that our paths cross soon. I would love to hear from you, so if you are interested in booking a photo shoot or a wedding please fill out the contact info - can't wait to meet you!

Separk Mansion Bridals – Rebecca

I’ve been holding these GORGEOUS bridals hostage for way too long. Rebecca and Jackson were married over the weekend at Byron’s South End. Their wedding was absolutely breathtaking – I’ll be sharing a very long blog post the second I get their images edited!  For now I will share some of my favorites from her bridal session we did a couple months ago at the Separk Mansion.

Sara + John – Trump National Golf Club Wedding

©Grace Hill Photography-296

Sara + John were married at Trump National Golf Club (formerly The Point) last month. Everything was absolutely beautiful! The florals, the dress, the venue and of course the lovely bride. I know I say this all the time but I really love my job. Documenting a couples love story and watching them become husband and wife is not something you get to do everyday. I’m so lucky to call Sara + John good friends. I think I was one of the first people to actually see the ring before John proposed. He was so excited to ask Sara to be his wife and even more excited for this day to come. I seriously can’t think of a sweeter couple and couldn’t be happier for these two love birds. They are truly, madly, deeply in love and I’m so thankful I was such a big part of their special day. Here are some of my favorites from their amazing day!

Sara + John, I wish you both a lifetime filled with lots of love and happiness!! xoxo

The Lukens Family – Charlotte Family Photographer

I’ve been photographing this gorgeous family for a couple years now. I absolutely adore them and their laid back vibe. I’ve watched them grow from a family of three to a family of four and have LOVED watching these beautiful babies grow over the years. I will admit that sometimes it’s tough photographing families with small children…. The last thing they want to do is sit still and smile for the camera. They would rather run free and roll around in the grass… so that’s exactly what we did… we ran, we played we explored and got some really sweet images along the way. Here are some of my favorites

Charlotte Newborn Photographer

There is just something about a newborn…. so tiny. so sweet. so innocent. I loved spending the morning with this sweet family capturing their love and happiness with their new bundle of joy. Charlotte was such a perfect angel for her session. This is the second newborn session I have had since my baby girl was born… Seeing this sweet, beautiful girl reminded me of how I felt holding my baby girl for the first time. I miss that sweet newborn smell and those lazy afternoons snuggled on the couch with her. My heart is so happy for this beautiful family. Here are some of my favorites form our morning together.

Life is an adventure {Personal}

“Life is an adventure and I just want to live an adventure!” – Erin Brooks

This summer my best friend Erin and I went on an amazing 3 day trip to Denver, Colorado to see one of our favorite bands – The Avett Brothers – preform at Red Rocks Amphitheater. It was a trip of a lifetime!! We ate amazing food, sang our hearts out with the Avetts at Red Rocks 2 nights in a row, saw the beautiful sights of Denver, did a little shopping, relaxed, laughed a lot, talked about life and our goals for the future. I’m so thankful Erin planned this memorable trip. Today is her birthday so I thought I would make a little blog post about my best friend. Erin is such a beautiful, thoughtful, fun loving, kind hearted, intelligent woman. She is driven and successful. Music, Bella and purses make her world go round. Her smile, loud contagious laugh and vivacious personality light up any room or crowed she graces with her presence. I can’t even begin to tell you the fun, joy, tears and laughter we have shared over the years. I really could go on and but I’m not a writer and she is probably correcting my grammar as she reads this:)While we were driving through the mountains of Colorado we took a back round and stumbled upon these beautiful sights. I snapped a couple pictures of Erin at one of the pull offs and thought I would share some pic’s of my beautiful friend. When we got back into the car she said these words “Kelly, Life is an adventure and I just want to live an adventure!”

Erin – Happy Birthday my sweet friend!!! I love you to the moon and back and am so happy our paths crossed 14 years ago when we were randomly put together as roommates in college. Keep living your dream, attending concerts, traveling and living life to the fullest!! xoxoxo
